TIDONIX PRIVACY POLICY
Effective Date: October 12, 2026
Last Revised: November 2, 2026
Overview: Tidonix LLC ("Tidonix", "we", "us") makes pool and spa controllers, the TidoniX Control mobile app, and the Tidonix web dashboards. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the system collects, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. In short: we collect what we need to run and protect your pool equipment, we never sell your personal information, and you can ask us to see, correct, or delete it at any time. This policy works together with our
Terms of Service (see Section 8 there).
1. Information We Collect
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number, service address and ZIP code, and your password (stored only in protected, encrypted form by our sign-in provider).
- Your pool's location: the address, ZIP code, or map point you give us for the pool. We use it for weather, sunrise and sunset times, and freeze protection. We do not track where your phone is.
- Bluetooth & phone location permission: the app uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to set up your controller. Because phone systems treat Bluetooth scanning as location-related, the app must ask for "Location" permission. It is used only to find and set up your controller nearby; the app does not record or send your phone's GPS position.
- Wi-Fi and other passwords: during setup the app passes your Wi-Fi network name and password directly to the controller over an encrypted Bluetooth connection. Your Wi-Fi password and your Home Assistant password stay on the controller; we never store them on our servers.
- Equipment & operating data: readings and settings from your pool equipment, such as water and air temperature, pressure, flow, pump speed, relay and valve states, schedules, chemistry and sensor readings, energy and cost estimates, alarms, error and crash reports, and firmware version.
- System records (logs): the controller keeps a running log of system events, commands, and alarms, including what was changed, when, and whether it came from the app, the keypad, a schedule, a voice assistant, or a linked pool professional.
- Notices you accept: when you accept a notice in the app (for example before water-care suggestions), the controller records which version you accepted, when, and from which account.
- Kept only on your phone: your recent water tests list in the app, and display choices such as text size and vibration. Water-care plans you print or save as a PDF are made on your phone and are not sent to us; if you share one, it goes only to the people or apps you choose.
- Device & network details: the controller's serial number and device ID, MAC address, IP address, Wi-Fi signal strength, and connection status, and the notification token your phone needs to receive alerts.
- Service activity: the pool care company you link or ask for service, service requests, visit records, the technician and service day the company assigns to your pool, and ratings you give.
- Information your pool care company adds: a pool care company you use may enter your name, contact details, address, and pool details in its dashboard (for example, for a pool that has no Tidonix controller). We store that information for the company so it can serve you.
- Payments (commercial accounts): handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
Is equipment data personal information? On its own, equipment data describes your pool, not you. Because it is connected to your account and address, however, we treat all of it as personal information and protect it the same way.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To run the system: send your commands to your equipment, run schedules and automations, and show live status in the app and dashboards.
- To keep it safe: send alerts (for example, freeze warnings or sensor problems), detect faults, and deliver software updates and safety patches.
- To run weather-based and energy features for your pool's location.
- To provide support, diagnose problems, and handle warranty claims.
- To let you, your pool care company, and our support team find records quickly (search), each limited to what they are allowed to see (see Section 3).
- To improve our products, using combined or de-identified data wherever possible.
- To send important notices about your account, our Terms or this Policy, firmware releases, and related products. You can opt out of non-essential messages at any time.
- To protect the system and our users, comply with the law, and establish how the system operated if there is ever a dispute (see Section 5).
3. Who Can See Your Information
- You, and anyone you share your account with.
- The pool care company you choose.
- When you ask a company for service (before it accepts): it sees your name, the pool's address and ZIP code, and the pool details you entered, so it can decide whether to take you on. It does not see your equipment readings, alerts, email, or phone number yet. If it declines, or you cancel your request, that access ends.
- After it accepts, for as long as it stays linked: it can see your equipment status and alerts, service requests and visit records, and the contact details it needs to serve you. Its office staff, and the technicians it assigns to your pool, see what they need for their work.
- Its client list: to keep its dashboard fast and our costs low, a company's dashboard may keep a short list of its clients on the company's own computer between visits: name, city, ZIP code, controller status, assigned technician, and service day. This list is encrypted, and only that company's signed-in staff can open it. When you unlink, you are removed from it the next time the dashboard updates, and the whole list is deleted from that computer if the company's access to Tidonix ends.
- Search: a company can search only its own clients; it cannot see or search anyone else's.
- You can unlink the company in the app at any time, which ends its access. Each company is an independent business; its own privacy practices apply to what it does with your information.
- Tidonix staff, only as needed to run the service, provide support, handle billing, and keep the system safe, for example a support search to find your controller. If the Terms of Service allow it (for example, for non-payment), Tidonix may lock a controller's cloud features; you will see a message in the app explaining why.
- Service providers that help us run the system, who may use your information only to provide their service to us: cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services), sign-in and security, weather and mapping services (such as the National Weather Service and Google), push notifications, payment processing (Stripe), and voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant if you choose to connect them.
- When required: to comply with the law or a valid legal request, to protect the safety of people or property, to protect our legal rights, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business (in which case this policy continues to apply).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We do not give it to ad networks or data brokers.
4. How We Protect It
Your information is stored on Amazon Web Services in the United States. The controller, the app, and the dashboards communicate over encrypted connections; each controller has its own unique security certificate; and access to our systems is limited to people who need it. A pool care company's saved client list (see Section 3) is encrypted on its computer with a key that is never stored there. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong account password and keep your controller's software up to date.
5. System Records & Tamper Protection
To keep the controller's records trustworthy for you and for us, they are protected against tampering, and some check information about them is stored on our servers. These records may be used to diagnose problems, evaluate warranty claims, and show how the system operated if there is ever a dispute. The check information contains no personal details; it only allows a record to be verified later.
6. How Long We Keep It
- Account information: while your account is active.
- After you delete your account: we delete or de-identify your personal identifiers (such as your name, email, phone, and address) within a reasonable time, your cloud access ends, and your controller continues to work locally.
- What we keep longer: de-identified equipment data, and system records, logs, and their check information, kept for security, fraud prevention, warranty, legal, and claim-defense purposes for as long as reasonably necessary, generally up to seven (7) years, and longer only where the law requires.
7. Your Choices & Rights
- View and update your account details in the app.
- Unlink a pool care company or a voice assistant at any time, or cancel a service request you sent.
- Delete your account in the app's settings, or by writing to us.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to [email protected]. We will confirm your request and respond within 45 days.
- Run the controller locally without an internet connection. This reduces the data it sends but turns off cloud features and may affect your warranty (see our Terms of Service).
State privacy rights: depending on where you live (for example, Texas or California), you may have specific rights to know, access, correct, delete, or get a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of its sale or use for targeted advertising (we do neither). We honor these requests for all users, wherever they live, and we will not treat you differently for using them. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or writing to [email protected] with the subject "Privacy Appeal"; we will answer within 60 days. If you are not satisfied with the result, you may contact your state Attorney General.
8. Children
The Tidonix System is intended for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
9. Cookies & Web Dashboard
The Tidonix web dashboards use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to make the site work, and may use basic analytics to monitor performance and reliability. They also use the browser's own storage for a few settings (such as the last page you opened) and, for pool care companies, the encrypted client list described in Section 3. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make important changes, we will post the new version in the app and on this page and update the date at the top.
